Light Painting in Las Vegas

While in Vegas last month my friend Jeff  took a few members of our photography club Light Painting. We had a blast shooting pictures of  burning steel wool being spun in different formations.

While editing the photo's I started playing around with different filters in Lightroom. I found it interesting how different filters brought out different parts of the photos.

 Here you can see the same photo edited 2 different ways. The top is the original photo with a few minor edits. The bottom image is a cold tone creative color pre-set in Lightroom.

 If you look close in the middle of the circle you'll see me. The guys talked me into spinning the burning metal too. It was fun. Though you can't back away from the burning metal when you are holding the string in your hand . . . .   :)

DeWhitt Family

Brandi and I were roommates for 2 years in college. We lost touch over the last few years. So it was great to get together with her family for a photo shoot.  My friend from college has 2 very energetic young kids who are a little crazy . . . . but in a good way. :)

The DeWhitt family is a great family with a heart for ministry. In January they are moving to Peru for a 2 year commitment in missionary work.

Adrienne

Every now and then everything comes together so perfectly for a photo shoot that my job is easy. The location, the light, the subject . . . . everything. This was one such shoot. Adrienne is a wonderful girl and I really enjoyed working with her. And her eyes, she has the most beautiful eyes!

Seattle with a Friend

I belong to an online photography club. This club has helped my photography improve more than any book I've read. We're a pretty tight group and have been through a lot together. I call them my online family. :)  So when my friend Dale was in Seattle, I drove the 4 hours to see him. We spent the day walking around the city taking pictures. We ended our day on Queen Anne Hill overlooking the city at night. We took way too many pictures because we didn't want to leave . . . it was just to beautiful!
