Hoggan Family

I met Marci at church, but really got to know her at summer camp. I was very excited when she contacted me to take their family photos. Even though it was a chilly November morning we had a great time. The kids especially love watching the ducks on the lake.

                                               Such adorable kids!!!

After the photo shoot the kids started playing Hide - and - Seek

Twogood Family

A few weeks ago I had the honor of photographing some old friends. I met the Twogood family when my boys were toddlers, in fact Sara was Devin's preschool teacher. I hadn't seen them in at least 5 years, so it was really great to meet up with them again. Visiting with old friends is always a treat, but being able to take their family photos is a fun experience.

Re-Connecting with Family

While I was in Washington DC visiting my sister, we had dinner with our cousin Kevin, his wife and his new baby boy. I haven’t seen my cousin in years, so it was really great to re-connect. I was incredibly honored when Kevin and Lynn asked me to take pictures of their little boy Sam. Though he was a bit fussy during the photo shoot (he was asleep the second we finished) we managed to get some good family photos.

Red Rock Canyon

The first morning in Vegas a small group decided to head out to Red Rock Canyon to photograph the sunrise. I wasn't planning to go because I hadn't slept well the night before arriving in Las Vegas. But since I didn't sleep well that night either I went along. I'm soooo glad I did. It was absolutely beautiful.

Most all of the rock formations had holes in them. I'm very curious about what causes these holes.

When they say Red Rock Canyon . . . . they really mean Red Rocks!! :)

Hoover Dam & Transformers

One of our stops in Vegas was Hoover Dam. It was so fun seeing a place I'd seen in movies. First we walked across the overpass bridge to the Nevada/Arizona state line. Then we drove down to the dam parking lot to wait for sunset . . . .

While waiting for the sun to set and the dam lights to come on a group of us walked across the dam. At this point all I could think about was Dawson. He LOVED Transformers. And he loved the Transformer movie. They filmed a scene on the Hoover Dam. So all I could think about was how much Dawson would have loved to be there with me to see where they filmed part of the movie.
I think the shadow of the bridge we were on is a pretty cool addition to this photo. :)
                        From Nevada . . . . . looking into Arizona
Those of us who made it to the center had to document our arrival. My feet have the big silver flowers. :)
Here are most of the members of my photography club who made it to Vegas. We took a break in the shade . . . . it was really really hot!! From left to right: Martin, Debbie, Dale, Jim, Rita, Tony, Deb, Bean & Jeff
The over pass bridge as we drove under it. I took this photo through the car window. :)
This photo reminds me of the scene in the Transformers movie where the tiny Decepticon crawls out of the purse and falls down the side of the dam.

I believe the white line is where the water level used to be.

These last 4 pictures show the progression of nightfall . . .
